Tura, Feb 19: As part of strengthening cultural endeavors and community bonds, the Central Puja Committee (CPC) Garo Hills held its Annual General Meeting at the SMELC Hall on Sunday, attended by Naba Bhattacharjee, President of CPC Meghalaya, representatives from various Puja Committees, Zonal Committees of Garo Hills, and development committees of Tura.
A new committee was established to propel the initiatives of CPC Garo Hills, aimed at fostering communal harmony and promoting cultural activities within the region. The newly appointed committee, led by Prabin Panthi as President and supported by Vice Presidents Bidyasagar Mishra, Jibananda Koch and D.K Newar, along with General Secretary Arup Nag, will now take charge of the CPC to spearhead new initiatives as well as future endeavors.
The Annual General Meeting serves as a platform to discuss key issues, celebrate achievements, and strategize for the future endeavours of CPC Garo Hills. The event highlighted the commitment of the community towards preserving cultural heritage promoting unity and brotherhood in the region.
