Tura, Aug 11: A dacoity gang preparing to rob people has been caught and trashed by the public and handed over to police on Tuesday night.

“They were trying to commit dacoity when they were caught at Gondagre village. Three were arrested but two others escaped. We are on the lookout for them,” said SP of West Garo Hills V S Rathore.

Police have seized a country-made pistol and a ‘dao’ from a bag used by the gang.
