Shillong, Aug 2: Fuming over his suspension from Meghalaya BJP party primary membership, Dr. KC Boro on Monday lashed out at BJP president Ernest Mawrie, stating that Mawrie was not acting like a president but like managing director of a private limited company.
Former minister and leader from Garo hills Dr KC Boro was suspended for his alleged breach of discipline and a show cause notice was also issued to him.
Boro has now challenged the president that he would approach the Court and also file a defamation case against him.
“ I have got no reaction from the president, what is his mind, if they are planning to take further disciplinary action against me. In case he goes ahead in taking any further action against me in the name of ‘anti-party’ activity. I will challenge it in the court of law,” stated Boro.
He added that it was illegal, bias and undemocratic and also against the law.
“I don’t know if party matter concerns the court or not but injustice has been done to me and I will knock on the doors of the court. This has damaged my image and prestige, and it will lead upto defamation case. Will go to the court seeking jutice followed by defamation case against Mawrie. It may be the first case,” said Boro.
Clarifying that he was innocent and that being suspended from primary membership was not a matter of joke.
Boro mentioned that his next course of action is yet to be seen.
Boro also mentioned that several other suspension was made by the President.
Ernest Mawrie on April 22, issued a show cause notice to Member of District Council (MDC) Pramod Koch for violating party discipline.
According to Boro there was no reason and any prior intimation, for the removal of Koch.
Asked if there is a growing division in the party, Boro said it is already there. “Everybody knows about it. House is divided into two. There are two fraction, one side wants Hek to replace Mawrie and the other wants Mawrie,” said Boro.
Dr KC Boro was suspended on July 9. The BJP president’s letter to Boro mentioned that he was not to visit any of the party offices at any level till the disciplinary proceedings are completed.
“You are served upon the instant notice for deliberately going to a section of media in most unauthorised manner and willfully publishing news aimed at misleading and arousing indiscipline in the rank and file of the party which is a gross breach of party discipline,” the show-cause notice read.
Boro mentioned that he will not change his statement and that he will continue to support former health minister AL Hek as party president and should replace Mawrie.
