Tura, Oct 9: The Federation of Khasi Jaintia And Garo People (FKJGP), Dadenggre Unit, on Saturday submitted a memorandum to State Health Minister, James K Sangma for upgradation of Dadenggre Community Health Centre (CHC) into a 100 bedded and installation of ultrasonography machine in the said CHC.
In a letter to the Health Minister, the FKJGP exhibited reasons that the Dadengere CHC is the only single Health center exist in the area which caters much minor treatment in the region. Most people solely depend on the CHC, but the patients are referred to go to Tura in absence of better medical infrastructure which clearly indicates that Dadenggre CHC is still in needs of important basic facilities.
At present, there are only 30 beds in this CHC, which is not sufficient. This is also the reason for the Medical Officers to refer the patients to Tura Hospital which is a huge burden to poor patients.
The Federation also urged for the installation of ultrasonography in the Dadenggre CHC.
The letter further mentioned that there are no good clinics and pharmacies with adequate medical instruments jn the area.
