Guwahati, June 10: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across parts of Assam over the next two to three days, prompting the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) to issue a public advisory.
According to ASDMA, isolated areas in western and southern Assam could receive heavy (7–11 cm) to very heavy (12–20 cm) rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning till June 13.

Authorities have warned of waterlogging, flash floods, slow-moving traffic and a heightened risk of landslides in vulnerable and hilly areas.
Residents, particularly those living in low-lying and landslide-prone locations, have been urged to remain alert, avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall and follow official weather advisories.
