Shillong, May 6: The Hid Foundation Shillong has expressed appreciation to Rosette Mary Kurbah (IAS) on her promotion as Commissioner and Secretary and her subsequent transfer from her post as Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district.

In a statement issued on May 6, the organisation said its members met Kurbah earlier in the evening to extend their gratitude and acknowledge her role during her tenure as head of the district administration. The foundation thanked her for her support towards its welfare programmes and her engagement with community initiatives during her time in office.

“As a foundation, we met Madam to express our sincere appreciation for the outgoing DC’s constructive role in serving the people of the district and the state in all aspects,” the organisation said, adding that she was regarded by many as a “People’s DC” for her approach in dealing with the public.

“It is not that we received extra attention from her, but we genuinely appreciate her because of her approach, which was full of goodwill towards everyone as district head. That is what matters and it should serve as an example for others,” the statement added.

The Hid Foundation also wished her continued success in her new assignment and expressed hope that she would continue contributing to the development of Meghalaya.
