Shillong, Sept 8: The Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) on Thursday met BJP State president Ernest Mawrie to demand for an enquiry by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the state.
HITO president, Donbok Dkhar, said the HITO has highlighted the list of alleged scams: Coal scam, Teacher recruitment scam, Social Welfare department Rice scam, Sobhagya Scam, the ISBT scam, construction of the new Assembly Building, ADCs fund scam, smart meters scam, smart city scam and, the purchase of police vehicles.
He said other alleged scams included in the list are: NGT ban on rat-hole mining, murder of the police inspector, and the murder of the President of JYF, all in 2014; in 2018, the brutal assault on social activist, illegal coal transportation and coke factories.
“These are all the reports that we (HITO) has prepared, and we trust in this political party (BJP) and its leadership that they will bring justice and so we will have a corruption free Meghalaya,” he said.
On the meeting, Dkhar informed that the BJP State president has given the assurance to send the memorandum to the Union Home Minster Amit Shah. He also informed that the BJP president has assured if need be, a delegation of the party unit will go and meet the Union Home Minister at Delhi.
