“Healthcare and the medical field have grown into a multi-faceted branch with many specializations and focus areas. For too long, our bright young minds, with the aim to become professionals in the medical field, have had to seek admission in medical colleges in different states outside Meghalaya. Having a fully functional medical college in the State will not only boost the morale of our youth but will also bring us to be amongst the States having our very own medical college.”  Sangma said.

The Minister also held a review meeting with various health officials at Tura Circuit House on various health-related schemes that are available.

Sangma said, “I want to assure that the Health Department and the State Government are working hard to make sure all necessary health-related schemes are made available to the citizens of the State. The schemes will aid the people during medical emergencies so they do not face any obstacle while seeking medical treatment for themselves or their families.”
