KHADC hands over Wha U Tim view point to Hima Mawlong

SHILLONG, OCT 24: The Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has handed over the Wah U Tim View Point to the Hima Mawlong to manage the tourist spot, Executive Member Pynkhrawboklin Kharjahrin informed on Thursday.

Kharjahrin, who is in-charge of Council Assets, stated this in a reply to a question raised by MDC of Shella constituency Barikupar Synrem.

Kharjahrin said that the construction of the Tim View Point is almost complete, with 97% of the work already done. The remaining works, including a children’s playground, beautification of the tourist attraction, and other minor works, are in progress.

“Only about 3% of the works remain to be completed at Wah u Tim View Point, and all these will be completed after the opening of the tourist spot,” Kharjahrin said.

He stressed that the Executive Committee (EC) of KHADC has taken a decision to monitor the projects and schemes of the District Council to ensure that they are completed on time.

Meanwhile, Executive Member Powell Sohkhlet, who is in-charge of Elaka, stated that the KHADC has the authority to issue a No Objection Certificate (NoC) to the Coke Factory under section 4 (1) (i) and Section 12 (2) of the KHAD (Regulation and Administration of Land) Act 2021.

Sohkhlet informed this while replying to a question raised by MDC of Mawshynrut constituency S Rashir.
