Tura, June 27: A tragic incident unfolded at Rongkusi Dare Waterfall in Jengjal under West Garo Hills on Friday, where a 20-year-old man drowned after reportedly slipping while attempting to take selfies by the waterfall’s edge.
The deceased has been identified as Amzad Ali, son of Nasir Ali from Nepalgaon, Chirang District, Assam.
Upon receiving the report, Rongram Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) and the Tura State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) immediately launched a rescue and recovery operation. They recovered Ali’s body around 6:45 PM.
