Shillong, July 4: The Court of Special Judge (POCSO) in North Garo Hills District has convicted and sentenced Mikseng B Marak of Daram Tekalang to simple imprisonment for one year for peeping at a girl while she was taking a bath.
Mikseng was convicted under Section 354C of the Indian Penal Code.
The incident occurred on December 26, 2019, at around 4 pm, when the accused peeped at the victim while she was bathing.
The court’s judgment passed on June 13, 2025 sentenced Mikseng to simple imprisonment for one year and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000.
The investigation was conducted by WPSI Bailine Sangma, Sub-Inspector, who submitted a chargesheet against the accused with sufficient evidence.
The trial established the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt.
