SHILLONG, JUL 24: A Special POCSO Court in East Jaintia Hills has sentenced Jimi Bareh to 22 years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 for rape of a minor.

B Khriam, Special Judge (POCSO), convicted the accused under Section 376(2)(f) IPC read with Sections 5(f)(ii)/5(n)/6 of the POCSO Act, 2012.

The order was passed on July 21.

The case was registered at Khliehriat Women PS as Case No. 48(L2)/2020 and investigated by W.Pt. O. Tyngkan.

A charge sheet was filed on 18.11.2021.
