Tura, September 24: The Manda mahari team has secured the contender spot in the Inter Mahari Men’s Football final after defeating the Te•gite mahari in the second semi final match in a penalty shootout on Wednesday at the P. A. Sangma football stadium in Dakopgre, Tura. With this victory, the Manda mahari team will be clashing against the Chambugong mahari team in the finale for the coveted trophy.

The match went into penalty shootout after the 0-0 deadlock in regulated time, as both teams failed at scoring. Manda mahari ultimately won the shootout 5-4, after scoring five out of their 6 attempts, while Te•gite missed two of their 6 shots.

Samuel M Sangma of Manda mahari received yellow card for a foul in the game and was also awarded player of the match.
Preparations are underway for the finale event of the Inter Mahari Football Tournament scheduled on Saturday, September 27, with finals played in both the men and women category. In the women category it’s Gabil vs Mangsang, and in the men category it’s Manda vs Chambugong, at the P. A. Sangma football stadium in Dakopgre, Tura.
