Tura, May 19: The Mangsang Ampang Mahari Association – Tura Unit (MAMA-Tura Unit) hosted a grand felicitation programme on Saturday evening at CARIZ, Tura, to celebrate and honour meritorious students for their exceptional performance in recent board examinations.
Held under the theme “Celebrating Academic Excellence – Honouring Our Brightest Stars,” the event saw a gathering of students, families, senior citizens and community leaders. Students who excelled in the MBOSE HSSLC, Class X, and ICSE exams were recognised for their achievements.
The highlight of the evening was Nangrim Sangma, who secured 5th position among the state’s top 10 rank holders, scoring an outstanding 89.92% with distinction in all subjects. Speaking to HubNews, Nangrim shared his future plans, “I have just appeared for the CUET and plan to pursue Political Science at Delhi University. My long-term goal is to appear for the UPSC.”
Inspiring messages were shared by dignitaries and elders. Agnes M. Sangma urged students to stay focused, saying, “You have brought pride to your schools, families, and the Garo community. Remain committed, avoid distractions from social media, and walk the right path.”
Dr. Montu A. Sangma, retired Superintendent of Tura Civil Hospital, encouraged students to explore the science stream, noting, “Don’t shy away from science. Consider careers in medicine or engineering.”
The AMA-Tura Unit also presented certificates and cash awards to the students.
