Imphal, Oct 15: An active member of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), Karam Satrajit Singh, was arrested by teams of CDO Imphal West from Singjamei Supermarket on Saturday.
Karam Satrajit Singh was arrested with one 9 mm pistol marked as ‘Beretta USA Corp’ along with one magazine loaded with 7 live rounds.
Singh is the nephew of MLA Langthabal AC, Karam Shyam.
Satrajit disclosed that he has been working for the KYKL organisation since June 2023 through Mr. Robert, who is currently staying in Myanmar.
Satrajit, along with the seized articles, will be handed over to Singjamei Police Station for further necessary action.
A sum of Rs 60,000 (extortion money) was seized from his possession.
A mobile phone and one wallet containing one Aadhaar card were also seized from his possession.
