Shillong, Feb 7: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has lauded the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District RM Kurbah for donating her own land to help decongestion of Shillong city.

Mentioning this in his address at a function to lay the base for the Wah Umkhrah Riverfront Development Project on Wednesday, Sangma said the DC of EKH has been leading by example.

“I am told she (Kurbah) has donated her own personal land to help with the decongestion process of the state,” he said.

“It is not a simple thing but I think as a deputy commissioner she is leading by example, I really thank her for the kind of example that she is setting for the rest of the citizens. As I said, without the cooperation of the people we will not be able to take this forward,” Sangma further said.
