Shillong, July 3: One died in an explosion in a house in Smit under Madanrting Police Station, Meghalaya on Monday. The explosion is said to have occurred at around 11:00 am.

The victim has been identified as 35-year old. He was known as Bah Khongwir by the locals.

Sources said that the reason behind the explosion was an inflated mattress.

Also, the victim was bed ridden.

Police team and bomb squad have arrived at the explosion site.

According to the visuals from the incident site, broken window panes and glasses can be seen shattered outside the house.

At present, the Bomb squad is inspecting the explosion site.
