Tura, July 15: The body of a 15-year-old girl, who went missing five days ago, was found in a forest in the Mahadeo region of South Garo Hills district on July 14, in what is suspected to be a case of murder.
Teenage girl went missing on the afternoon of July 11, between 4 and 5 PM, and could not be traced despite frantic search efforts by her family and villagers. She was a resident of near Mahadeo village, under the jurisdiction of the Rongara Development Block.
The family filed a missing person report with the police on July 12, prompting a large-scale search operation in the area. Her lifeless body was later discovered in a stream near the forest in the Mahadeo region.
Police are currently awaiting the post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have stated that no possibilities are being ruled out at this stage.
