Shillong, July 18: Union Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar has lauded the performance of East Khasi Hills District and urged officers to continue to capitalise on the look Northeast policy of the government of India.
During his two-day visit to the state, Gurjar inspected the Mawtawar Water Supply Scheme which is a convergence project of MGNREGS and PHE departments.
He also held meetings with the Planning & Co-operation departments and also reviewed implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes – MGNREGS, PMAY-G, JJM, NLM, Computerisation of PACS and ARCs, PM DeVINE, NESIDS, Mushroom Development Centre etc in East Khasi Hills.
Addressing media persons, Gurjar also shared the vision of the Prime Minister of Viksit Bharat@2047 which represents the government of India’s ambitious vision to transform the nation into a developed entity.
He stressed on the focus of PM on development of Northeastern states as a catalyst for regional development towards achieving this goal.
The minister of state also interacted with beneficiaries of MGNREGA, PMAY (G), Lakh Pati Didi, Cooperate Society and Water Warrior.
He further stressed on the vision of PM that development of people will lead to development of each state which in turn makes the national developed.
