Dibrugarh , Aug 5: Borbaruah police recovered a two-by-two pipe and an iron rod from a drain in Patar Gaon, Borbaruah, on Tuesday, believed to have been used in the murder of local businessman Uttam Gogoi.
“They used both the items during the murder according to their confession. We recovered the items after a long search. The evidence has been collected and sent for forensic examination,” a police official confirmed.
The Borbaruah police team will soon recreate the crime scene to establish the sequence of events.
The case took a shocking turn after police arrested Gogoi’s wife, Boby Sonowal Gogoi, her teenage daughter, 21-year-old Dipjyoti Buragohain, and a 17-year-old boy on Sunday.
Gogoi, 52, a resident of Lahon Gaon in Barbaruah, was found dead in his home on July 25. What initially appeared to be a robbery was later revealed as a planned murder allegedly orchestrated by his closest family members.
