SHILLONG, MAR 19: The East Khasi Hills administration has told consumers not to panic over cooking gas, saying stocks are stable and supplies are uninterrupted despite a slight delay in booking cycles.
In a statement, Deputy Commissioner (Supply) said Oil Marketing Companies and distributors have confirmed adequate and sufficient domestic LPG stock across the district.
While transit issues have pushed the distribution backlog from 1.2 days to 1.4 days, officials said there is no disruption.
“Consumers are requested to continue booking cylinders as per their normal requirement…do not resort to panic booking or unnecessary hoarding,” the release said, warning that such practices may create artificial shortages.
Authorities asked users facing technical glitches in online booking to book manually with agencies and to complete e‑KYC verification for smooth and transparent distribution.
The administration said it is monitoring stock positions and urged people to report irregularities to their distributors or the DC’s office.
