Tura, March 10: The first aspirants for the upcoming GHADC elections filed their nominations on Wednesday from across the five districts of Garo Hills including a lone candidate for the prestigious Tura MDC seat.
Working president of the NPP in Garo Hills and party candidate for Tura seat, Semford B Sangma filed his nomination papers before the returning officer at Tura DC office.
Semford Sangma is a former MDC of the GHADC way back in the mid-1990s.
Nominations were also filed in different districts by candidates from different parties including Independents.
In North Garo Hills district, NCP candidate Zeercostar Momin filed his papers to contest from Damas constituency.
In the South Garo Hills district, the lone candidate to file nomination was Independent candidate Rajesh M Marak for Siju constituency.
In East Garo Hills Independent candidate Pinpin A Sangma filed his nomination to contest from Williamnagar constituency.
