The operation was executed with the help of international well control experts from CUDD Pressure Control (USA), who were flown in last week. ONGC’s Crisis Management Team worked around the clock to ensure the operation concluded safely, with no injuries, casualties, or fire—a testament to the team’s precision and planning.
On June 12, during routine servicing at the well, uncontrolled gas release was observed, prompting an immediate response. Over 330 families from nearby villages were evacuated as a precaution and shifted to relief camps in Bangaon, where they continue to receive food, water, and essential supplies.

Minister Puri thanked Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and state officials for their continued support in ensuring ground operations ran smoothly.
