Tura, July 3: The P.A Sangma Am•beng College the first-ever degree college in Dadenggre was officially inaugurated on Thursday at a ceremony held at Dilsigre Secondary School, which will serve as its temporary campus.
The event was graced by James K. Sangma, Chairperson of MIDC, alongside the BDO of Dadenggre, school principals, community leaders and Nokmas. The ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Mollen B. Marak, who expressed gratitude to Sangma for his support in making the college a reality.

James K. Sangma formally declared the college open and expressed hope that the institution named in honour of late P.A Sangma—would uplift youth in the region. He said the college would receive backing from the PA Sangma Foundation and envisioned it becoming one of the best in West Garo Hills, with aspirations of achieving NAAC accreditation in the future.
Speaking at the event, Fr. Nicolas underlined the transformational impact the college would have on local students, while Principal Smt. Beneomie Marak delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the collective efforts that led to the college’s launch.

The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural performance by students, marking the beginning of a new academic journey.
The college will temporarily function out of Dilsigre Secondary School until construction of a permanent campus begins, pending the release of grants.
