Pala accuses BJP of ‘basket plan’ to fragment anti-saffron forces in NE

SHILLONG, DEC 1: Congress chief Vincent H Pala has alleged that the proposed regional front in North East India, comprising NPP, TIPRA Motha, and others, is a plan by the BJP to divide anti-saffron forces in the region.

“This is a plan of the RSS and the BJP… they want to make another basket where anti-BJP elements will be put, so that they don’t go to Congress or other parties,” Pala said, citing conversations with RSS and BJP leaders.

Pala questioned the intentions behind the alliance, pointing out that many leaders in the proposed front are either former BJP members or have ties with the party. “They are all friends of the BJP only…after elections they will go and work with the BJP only… it is a hundred percent the plan of the BJP,” he alleged.

He urged the people of North East India to be cautious, stating that there is no difference between the proposed front and the BJP.

“People should be much smarter than what they plan,” Pala said, implying that the alliance is a tactical move by the BJP to consolidate its position in the region.
