Guwahati, Feb 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Congress during a rally in Guwahati, alleging that the party has transformed into a “Maoist–Muslim League Congress” and warning voters against what he described as its “appeasement and vote-bank politics.”

Addressing party workers and supporters, Modi cautioned that the next five years would be crucial for Assam’s future and urged voters to return the Bharatiya Janata Party to power for “stability, peace, employment and fast-track development.”
“Today, Congress has become a Maoist–Muslim League Congress. We have to be very careful because they want to hand Assam back to illegal infiltrators,” the Prime Minister said.
He contrasted the BJP’s governance with what he termed Congress’ legacy of unrest. “Congress kept Assam infested with insurgency and conflict. Being out of power for ten years, Congress has become poisonous and wants to push Assam back into instability,” he alleged.

Highlighting development initiatives, Modi said Assam is emerging as a new hub for technology and infrastructure. “In a few days, semiconductor chips made in Assam will become as famous as Assam tea,” he said, adding that the Northeast is now central to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”
Referring to his landing at the Advanced Landing Ground (ALG) in Moran, he said it marked “a new chapter in history,” noting that the region, once known for broken roads, now has highways capable of handling fighter jets.
“The enthusiasm of booth-level karyakartas shows that BJP will return with an even bigger majority. We must not only win elections but also win people’s hearts. A third BJP government will ensure triple the development in Assam,” Modi said.

He further claimed that the Union Budget focused on making the Northeast “Atmanirbhar” and accused Congress of neglecting the region when it was in power.
“The entire country is looking at Assam and the Northeast today,” the Prime Minister asserted, urging party workers to strengthen booth-level networks under the slogan “Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot.”
