Guwahati, Feb 24: The Assam Government has agreed to rearrange, reorganize and rename all the existing Divisions and Sub-Divisions of the Public Works (Building & NH) Department in the state in accordance with the previous notification of the Election Commission of India for delimitation of LACs in the State.
The Assam Cabinet made this announcement on Friday stating that it decided to proceed with the proposed readjustment of the reorganised LACs with the new geographical jurisdictions in the Cabinet meeting held at the Assam Secretariat on February 23.
The reorganisation of the departments will happen throughout the state, only excluding the Sixth Schedule districts, in order to facilitate effective administrative and technical management of the department’s main projects.
