Shillong, Feb 2: The police department will submit a report to the state government on the escape of two prisoners – Small Phawa and Kwall Laloo, informed the Inspector General of Prisons, Mariahom Kharkrang.

He informed that he is waiting for the report from the West Khasi Hills District police department.

It may be mentioned that Phawa was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for raping a minor while Laloo was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.

The two escaped from Jowai Civil hospital on Sunday after they were brought to the hospital for treatment after they complained of illnesses.

Phawa was taken to the hospital on January 27 and Laloo on January 29. It was learnt that two guards were suspended and the investigation is on.
