Ri Bhoi’s Senibi Syngkli to represent India in Asian Arm-Wrestling Cup in Uzbekistan from Nov 17–25

Nongpoh, Nov 14: A local arm-wrestler from Lumdieng, Umden village in Ri Bhoi, Senibi Syngkli, is gearing up to represent India at the upcoming Asian Arm-Wrestling Cup in Uzbekistan from November 17–25.

Syngkli’s consistent display of skill has earned her a coveted spot among India’s elite arm wrestlers selected for the prestigious Asian competition. Her recent stellar performance at the 45th National Arm-Wrestling Championship 2023 in Jammu and Kashmir, where she secured two gold and two silver medals, further solidified her status as a formidable athlete.


To recognise her outstanding achievements and support her preparation for the Asian Arm-Wrestling Cup, the Meghalaya People Social Organisation (MPSO) from Ri Bhoi District met with Syngkli on Tuesday.

The organisation, in a generous display of support, contributed funds to facilitate her journey and participation in the upcoming tournament in Uzbekistan.


Senibi Syngkli, carrying the hopes and aspirations of her community and the nation, stands as an inspiration to aspiring athletes in Ri-Bhoi and beyond. On Tuesday, the leaders of MPSO united in wishing her the best as she embarks on this exciting journey to make India proud on the international arm-wrestling stage.
