Guwahati, July 12: The Prime Minister’s Rozgar Mela, a nationwide recruitment initiative aimed at boosting employment in various government departments, was held across the country on Saturday. As part of the event, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) organized Rozgar Melas at Guwahati, Dimapur, and Siliguri.
In Guwahati, the programme took place at the NF Railway headquarters in Maligaon and was attended by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal and Guwahati MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi, among other dignitaries. Candidates from Assam and other parts of the country participated in the event.
Out of more than 51,000 appointment letters distributed nationwide, 233 newly recruited candidates in Guwahati received their official letters of employment for various central government posts.
Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the Rozgar Mela reflects India’s forward momentum under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
“Thanks to the hard work over the past 11 years, India is well on its way to becoming one of the most developed nations in the world. This Rozgar Mela is a golden opportunity for our youth to contribute to nation-building. With devotion and dedication, we can realise the dream of a self-reliant and globally influential India within the next 25 years,” he said.
Sonowal further praised the Prime Minister’s leadership for elevating India’s global stature and economic strength, stating that the country has earned widespread recognition and respect on the international stage.
