Shillong, Aug 2: The construction of the four-lane road from Rilbong Umshyrpi bridge to Upper Shillong is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, according to Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.
The company undertaking the project has committed to finishing the work despite challenges posed by the monsoon season, Tynsong reporters on Friday
The contractor has promised to complete the work by the end of 2025, with hurdles cleared and only monsoon-related challenges remaining, he said while referring to the package I and four lane road.
In regards to packages II, IV, and V, Tynsong said the completion date for these packages is set for the end of 2026.
The Shillong-Dawki road project, implemented by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), is progressing well and expected to be completed by December 2026.
