Guwahati, Sept 30: The Facebook page of Shyamkanu Mahanta, named as one of the accused in the ongoing probe into the death of music icon Zubeen Garg, is no longer available on the platform.
Another of his Facebook accounts remains visible but shows restricted comment sections, with several posts missing.
Before the account went offline, Mahanta—who also serves as Chief Organiser of the North East Festival—had posted: “Dear citizens, I’m coming soon. I’ve already told the police. I will fully cooperate with the government and the administration. I have nothing to hide. I will answer all the questions asked by the SIT.”

Garima Saikia Garg, wife of the late singer, along with sister-in-law Palme Barthakur and a family uncle, has filed a complaint with the CID naming those present during the Singapore incident, including Shyamkanu Mahanta and Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma.
Meanwhile, All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Central President Utpal Sharma has strongly reacted to the mysterious circumstances surrounding Zubeen’s death, naming Mahanta and Sharma as the prime accused.
