In a landmark celebration of Indigenous food systems, NESFAS and the Laitsohpliah community on Thursday hosted a regional gathering of Agroecology Learning Circles (ALCs), marking the organisation’s recent win at the FAO World Food Forum in Rome. NESFAS’ ALC model received the 2025 Global Innovation Award on Farmer Field Schools for Sustainable Agrifood Systems, a global recognition of community-led agroecology grounded in Indigenous knowledge.
