The Hynñiewtrep Youth Council (HYC) on Thursday held a public meeting at Motphran to highlight the rising cases of drug abuse in the State, urging the government to take strong action.
The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has decided to hold a protest march to the main secretariat on November 8, to protest against the state government's failure to implement its 7-point charter of demands to tackle the growing drug menace in the state.

Speaking to reporters, HYC president Roykupar Synrem said, “We demand the government to immediately institute a judicial inquiry to be headed by the Session District Judge or retired judge into the matter.”
