A major liquor consignment—around 150 cases—meant exclusively for sale through Canteen Stores Department (CSD) outlets catering to Army personnel was seized during an attempted smuggling operation at the Missamari depot in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Friday.
As many as 30 people were arrested and around 9,600 bottles of liquor of various brands were seized from different places of Nagaland during a "suprise checking".
Following Manipur government's resolution to legalise liquor in the state, social organisations have come together to oppose the state cabinet's resolution.
