A court in Guwahati on Friday rejected for the second time the bail petition of singer Amritprava Mahanta, who has been in judicial custody for the past three months in connection with the death of legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.
The Assam Government will write to the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court to constitute a fast-track court for the expeditious trial of the Zubeen Garg death case, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced after chairing a Cabinet meeting on Thursday.
