Tura, August 8: A comprehensive four-day awareness-cum-training program aimed at strengthening the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman (PM-POSHAN) scheme concluded on Friday at the SMELC Building in Tura. Organized by the Office of the Sub-Divisional School Education Officer, Tura Sadar, the initiative saw enthusiastic participation from teachers across the sub-division.

The training, held from August 5th to 8th, 2025, was conducted block-wise to ensure focused engagement. On the inaugural day, August 5th, 256 teachers from Dalu block attended the sessions. This was followed by 184 teachers from Gambegre block on August 6th, and 227 teachers from Rongram block on August 7th. The final day of the program, August 8th, witnessed the participation of teachers from 131 schools under the Tura Urban block. In total, the program successfully reached educators from 798 schools within the Tura Sadar sub-division.

The objective of the training was to equip teachers with a thorough understanding of the PM-POSHAN norms and guidelines, best practices in implementation, and the utilization of the Megh-SIMS App for efficient record maintenance. Sessions also covered crucial aspects such as foodgrain lifting and delivery mechanisms, grievance redressal, ensuring access to clean drinking water and handwashing facilities, food safety and testing protocols, and the establishment and maintenance of school nutrition kitchen gardens. Resource persons from the PM-POSHAN Cell, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, PHE Department, Commissionerate of Food Safety Department, and the Horticulture Department led the informative sessions.
Organizers expressed their confidence that the training will significantly enhance the effective implementation of the PM-POSHAN scheme at the grassroots level, ultimately benefiting the nutritional well-being of students across the region. The initiative underscores the commitment of the education department to ensure the successful execution of this vital program.
