Guwahati, Nov 30: Telangana has unveiled a landmark initiative to strengthen its cultural and economic ties with Northeast India, with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announcing that the state will allot free land in Hyderabad’s Bharat Future City to set up the country’s first-ever “North-East Connect Centre.”
Each Northeastern state will also get its own exclusive state bhawan—including a dedicated Tripura Bhawan—equipped with hostel accommodation, cultural exhibition zones, and facilities for visitors, students, and professionals.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Telangana–North East Connect 2025 techno-cultural festival, a historic event organised by Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER).
Chief Minister Reddy said the initiative aims to create a permanent, future-ready platform that deepens cultural, technological, and economic linkages between Telangana and the eight Northeastern states.
A special note of gratitude was extended to Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, whose leadership and vision helped shape the festival into a celebration of unity, innovation, and shared cultural heritage.
Designed to “bridge geographical distances,” the Telangana–North East Connect festival brings together artists, innovators, athletes, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from Telangana and the Northeast.
The week-long celebration, was held from November 20–22 and November 25–27, featured a dynamic lineup of cultural performances, crafts exhibitions, panel discussions, sports events, and innovation-driven workshops.
The overarching goal of the initiative is to create a robust and permanent platform that strengthens cultural, economic, and technological ties, promotes long-term collaboration and knowledge exchange, showcases the rich heritage and innovative potential of both regions and empowers communities through arts, sports, technology, and entrepreneurship.
