The Singing Competition hosted by Simsang Music Society, culminates with Vibrant Success

Williamnagar, July 23: The singing competition, organized by Simsang Music Society at Williamnagar DRDA Hall No. II, concluded on a colorful note on 22nd July.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from 48 talented contestants hailing from various parts of Garo Hills, like West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and East Garo Hills. The honorable chief guest for the occasion was Shri. Marcuise N. Marak, the minister in charge of Soil and Water Conservation, Housing and PHE.

During his speech at the event, Marcuise N. Marak expressed his delight in witnessing the exceptional talents of Garo Hills. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to the organizers for providing such a platform to the talented youths of the region. Additionally, he announced the upcoming launch of the Meghalaya Grassroot Music project in Williamnagar. He conveyed his gratitude to the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad K. Sangma, for spearheading this project and offering a platform to the gifted youth of the state.

The judging panel for the competition comprised of eminent personalities, including Mr. Mikhail Marak, a renowned singer, composer and owner of Nokpante Studio in Tura, Mr. Hollyfield Raksam, a distinguished singer and music professional, and Mr. Chesrang Sangma, a talented singer and the proprietor of Gain Stack Music Academy in Williamnagar.

Miss Kavita Devi secured the first prize, followed by Bilsando Ch. Marak in the second position, and Pattiangku M. Sangma receiving the third prize. The organizers also awarded five consolation prizes to Waiwas Momin, Nokimbe M. Sangma, Raksime K. Sangma, Victor Sangma, and Learzar Saldo M. Sangma.

The president of Simsang Music Society shared with Hub News that the primary objective behind organizing this singing competition was to encourage and provide a platform for the exceptionally gifted youth in the region.
