SHILLONG, NOV 24: United Democratic Party (UDP) chief and cabinet minister Metbah Lyngdoh said he is open to any kind of inquiry if there is any misuse in the implementation of the MLA scheme.

“We welcome any inquiry if people see gaps or misuse,” Lyngdoh told reporters on Monday.

Refusing to comment on the opinion of other political party, he said, “But personally, as Mairang MLA, we strive for hundred percent transparent implementation—ensuring funds reach all the beneficiaries.”

“As public servants, we’re not flawless; shortcomings exist. But the intent must never be corruption or denying rights,” he stated.

“No MLA can claim perfection—we rely on recommendations of the dorbars, youth, women groups (for implementing the scheme). Yet as leaders, (we want to ensure transparency in its) implementation is non-negotiable,” Lyngdoh added further.
