Tura, Aug 31: The town of Tura witnessed a poignant and vibrant conclusion to the Ganesh Puja festivities on Sunday, as approximately 17 Ganesh Puja clubs and localities bid a heartfelt farewell to Lord Ganesha.
The grand idol immersion ceremony, the culmination of the joyous Ganesh Chaturthi festival, was held at the Visarjan Ghat in Babupara.
A huge numbers of devotees, filled with spiritual fervor, embarked on solemn processions from their respective puja pandals, with the main procession commencing from the Police Parade Ground.
The procession made its way through the heart of the town, passing via Hawakhana, the AOC Petrol Pump, and the District Maternity & Child Hospital, before reaching the Visarjan Ghat in Babupara.
The air resonated with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya”, accompanied by traditional music and the rhythmic beats of drums.
The Central Puja Committee (CPC) successfully ensured a smooth and safe immersion process for all participants, with comprehensive safety protocols in place at the Visarjan Ghat.
The strict regulations, which included prohibiting D.J.s and ensuring a continuous flow of processions, were followed meticulously by all participating clubs.
Club members and volunteers were instrumental in maintaining discipline and ensuring the normal movement of vehicles and pedestrians throughout the day.
Only a limited number of idols were allowed per procession, and all clubs cooperated fully with the police, contributing to a peaceful and well-organized event.
The festival brought together people from all walks of life in a spirit of unity and devotion marking the end of this year’s Ganesh Puja festivities.
As the idols were immersed into the sacred waters, the town reflected on the wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune that Lord Ganesha symbolizes.
