Tura, June 10: The First and Second Division matches of the Tura Football League, played at Chandmari Football Turf in Tura on Monday, featured exciting contests. Sampalgre YC won 2-1 against Nokrek Medan in the Second Division, and Rongkhon Sporting also secured a 2-1 victory against Greenwood FC in the First Division.

In the Second Division match, Sampalgre YC opened the scoring early in the 15th minute with a goal by Pleafev S. Sangma. Nokrek Medan responded with an equalizer by Brilliant Ch. Marak in the 35th minute.

After the break, both teams entered a deadlock, missing clear opportunities and failing to convert their chances. However, Luxbirth D. Shira managed to break the tie with a winning goal for Sampalgre YC in the 50th minute.

The match ended with Sampalgre YC defeating Nokrek Medan 2-1, with no cautionary cards issued.

In the First Division match, both Rongkhon Sporting and Greenwood FC were relentless in their attacks but were unable to convert their chances. The first half saw numerous missed opportunities, offsides, and overshot targets.

In the second half, Cindy Marak broke the deadlock with a goal in the 52nd minute for Rongkhon Sporting. He also had a chance to extend the lead with a penalty in the 76th minute, but Greenwood’s Sengsu Momin quickly countered with a goal in the 77th minute.

Kedukhro Losou of Rongkhon Sporting received a cautionary yellow card in the 15th minute of the game. Nikrak M. Sangma of Greenwood FC received a yellow card in the 75th minute for misconduct and left the field without the consent of the match officials, resulting in his suspension for the next match. Pushak Sangma from Greenwood FC also received a yellow card in the 76th minute.
