Tura, Feb 13: The Tura Industrial Fair 3.0, an annual district-level industrial exhibition, started today at the Matchakolgre L. P. School ground, New Tura, organized by the District Commerce & Industries Centre. The event is set to run until February 15th, showcasing a diverse array of local entrepreneurship and government initiatives.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the DC WGH, Jagdish Chelani, who officially inaugurated the event as the chief guest, accompanied by officials from various departments including DCIC DFR Marak and GMnof Dcic Tura, Chelani lauded the significant contribution of the district towards the PM Vishwakarma Scheme, with over 2300 entries, comprising two-thirds of the state’s total applications.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said “WGH has combinedly made over 2300 entries for the PM Vishwakarma Scheme where the state has done over all a complete of 3300 plus or so, so we make up around two third of the application under P M Vishwakarma and that is possible because of the DCIC teams dedication and hardwork they have put in. ”
The chief guest also toured the 55 stalls erected by local entrepreneurs and government agencies, engaging with beneficiaries and gaining insights into the exhibited products and services.
Among the highlights of the fair are attractions like the kids’ play zone, as well as decorated stalls in anticipation of Valentine’s Day on February 14th.
Adding a melodious touch to the event, the Meghalaya Grassroot Music Project (MGMP) has scheduled musical evenings on the 14th and 15th, featuring performances by renowned artists including Saldorik, The Do.pos, cheangku, chisa, and tony balsam, promising entertainment for attendees throughout the fair’s duration.
