Tura, Feb. 1: The Tura Music Academy organised a Theory of Music Examination Certificate Distribution Ceremony on Saturday evening at Cariz Banquet Hall, Bonepa A·tilla, Tura, to honour students who successfully cleared the Trinity College London Music Theory Examinations.
A large number of students, accompanied by their parents, attended the ceremony.
The programme was graced by Muz, lead vocalist of the renowned Rough Road Band, as the Chief Guest, along with Simon George S. Marak and Jesse James R. Marak. Silvan Sangma, drummer of the Rough Road Band, was also present at the event as one of the parents.
The Director of Tura Music Academy, Tengrang R. Sangma, welcomed the gathering and explained the objective of organising the certificate distribution ceremony.
He stated that the primary aim was to encourage students and recognise their hard work and dedication.
He expressed heartfelt appreciation to the parents, students, and teachers for their selfless contributions, commitment, and sacrifices towards the holistic development of children through music.
He highlighted the crucial role parents play in nurturing musical talent and acknowledged the teachers for their unwavering commitment to quality music education.
He also emphasised the importance of appearing for music theory examinations conducted by the Trinity College London Examination Boards, noting their global recognition and academic value.
The event began on a graceful note with a piano rendition by Alexier Cheangdo B. Marak, setting an elegant musical tone for the celebration.
The programme showcased the successful completion of internationally recognised music theory examinations by the academy’s students, reflecting their discipline, dedication, and academic excellence.
Tura Music Academy marked a significant milestone by celebrating the achievements of more than 50 students who appeared for the Trinity College London Music Theory Examination last year.
Certificates were distributed to the successful candidates by the Chief Guest, along with Jesse James R. Marak and Simon George S. Marak, adding to the significance of the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Muz stressed the importance of music theory as a strong foundation for understanding music in a deeper and more structured manner.
He encouraged students to make full use of the opportunities available today, stating that sound theoretical knowledge enhances creativity, confidence, and long-term growth in music.
Speaking on the occasion, parent Job D. Shira highlighted the effort, discipline, and dedication required to succeed in today’s competitive environment.
Sharing his personal experience, he spoke about how his daughter effectively manages her time by balancing music education with her academic responsibilities and extracurricular activities.
The event concluded on a high note with an electric guitar solo performance by Brorim Marak, one of the teachers, followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Breacken Hill M. Marak, bringing the celebration to a meaningful and musical close.
