TURA, July 31: A youth drowned in Bandari water falls of South Garo Hills while out on an outing with friends on Sunday afternoon to bathe and escape the sweltering heat that has been plaguing the Garo Hills for well over two weeks.
The young man, identified as Yorix Hajong (27 years), was a former student of Tura Sherwood School and had passed out in 2012 with distinction. He had also completed his university studies from NEHU.
Earlier reports had indicated he lost his life in the Bugai river of Dalu, but police informed that he drowned in Bandari waterfalls of South Garo Hills.
