Tura, Feb 19: Two more persons have been arrested from Mawsynram in connection with a member of an ACHIK organisation, taking the total number of arrests in the case to 15 so far.
According to police report on Thursday, a team from West Garo Hills carried out a late-night raid in Mawsynram and apprehended the two accused.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Aminul Islam (43) of New Bhaitbari and Gazi Rahman (45) of Bowabari village.

The arrests are part of an ongoing investigation being conducted by police in connection with the killing of one youth, identified as Dilseng M. Marak, died after unidentified assailants attacked members of an pressure group – Achik, who had gone to the district’s Rajabala village to “inspect” an allegedly illegal stone quarry on January 9 afternoon.
With these latest arrests, the total number of persons arrested in the case has risen to 15.
Further investigation is underway.
