Shillong, March 13: A vehicle belonging to Voice of the People Party (VPP) MDC Deity Majaw from Malki-Laitumkhrah met with an accident and turtle-turned into a roadside drain in the Quinine area of Ri-Bhoi district.

Multiple beer (Kingfisher) cans were found inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

MDC Majaw is also the Executive Member (EM) incharge of Law.

According to police reports, the accident occurred on March 8 around 11 PM. The vehicle, a Hyundai Grand i10 (ML05-S-1130), was traveling from Guwahati to Shillong when the incident happened.

The car was driven by Aldoly Mawthoh from Malki Pdeng Shnong, Shillong. Both MDC Deity Majaw and passenger Jepry Pohlong from Malki Pdeng shnong sustained injuries in the accident.

Emergency responders initially rushed the injured MDC and the other two passengers to Bethany Hospital, Nongpoh, before they were later shifted to Apollo Hospital in Guwahati, for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the police confiscated the vehicle and taken to Nongpoh Police Station for further investigation.
