Shillong, March 8: The National Lok Adalat organised by the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority on Saturday saw a total of 1,065 cases taken up across all districts of the state.
Out of all the taken cases, 737 were pre-litigation cases, while 328 were pending cases.
Ultimately, 143 cases were successfully settled, with a total settlement amount of ₹75,18,326.

The event was held under the patronage and guidance of Justice I. P. Mukerji, Chief Justice of the High Court of Meghalaya and Patron-in-Chief of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, and under the supervision of Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Judge of the High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
The Lok Adalat was conducted under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
