Tura, Sep 22: West Garo Hills police caught one man with 6.777 kg of cannabis (ganja) during special operation in Phulbari area on Tuesday night and also arrested another for growing cannabis.

The special raid conducted on a tip off took place in the house of one Fozial Sk at Nimaikata, Koilaghat area of Phulbari police station jurisdiction.

In the raid they caught one Saddiq Ali (41), a resident of Bischingchar, Dhubri, Assam and seized from him a sealed container inside which was 6.777 kg cannabis which police said will fetch easily a lakh of rupees in black market.

They also found house owner Fozial Sk was growing and producing cannabis plants inside his house campus and both arrested persons are involved in the trade.
