Shillong, Jan 18: Senior BJP leader and cabinet minister A L Hek on Monday said that anybody is welcome to join BJP without any ‘pre-condition’.

He made the remark reacting to the statement of Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) MLA, Adelbert Nongrum.

Nongrum had said that he would join BJP if they (BJP) fulfill its promise and resolve the long-pending issue of the Inner Line Permit (ILP). “I welcome anybody to join BJP but should not join the party with the condition,” said Hek.

“We welcome Bah Adelbert, we welcome anybody who wants to join BJP. Our door is open,” Hek added.

“Tomorrow they will say you give me this then I will join BJP or give me that I will join BJP this will not work, it should not be on any condition”.

This week end Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Shillong.

“If Manipur can get ILP, why not Meghalaya?”, Nongrum had asked.
